Aroha is La Leche League New Zealand’s digital publication for breastfeeding families. It features the latest breastfeeding information plus articles on a variety of personal breastfeeding and parenting experiences, and is published bimonthly. It is available as part of several membership options offered by La Leche League New Zealand.

Our members are a mixture of young families, health professionals and La Leche League Groups.

Hard copies of Aroha are also displayed in many public libraries, well child clinics, midwives’ and doctors’ waiting rooms, polytechnic libraries and community resource centres.

Our subscribers have chosen to receive our publication and are actively engaged and regularly contribute. Our readers tell us they eagerly anticipate the arrival of our magazine in their inbox and read it from beginning to end.

Hard copies of Aroha are displayed prominently and read by those attending our group meetings, as well as being shared digitally. In 2014, over 6000 mothers attended La Leche League meetings in 43 locations throughout Aotearoa New Zealand.

Aroha has a long life time as the contents remain relevant. It is also available in waiting rooms of our professional members.

Aroha is published bi-monthly in February, April, June, August, October and December.

General conditions

Existing advertising contracts will be honoured for a 12 month period should advertising rates increase in the meantime.

The publisher reserves the right to refuse or omit any advertising which is not compatible with La Leche League philosophy. See www.lalecheleague.org.nz/about-us/our-philosophy

All advertising material is to be delivered to the Office Administrator without expense to the publisher.

Acceptance of an advertisement does not constitute La Leche League New Zealand (LLLNZ) endorsement. This information will appear as a statement in the publication.

LLLNZ will not accept advertising from companies whose products fall within the scope of the World Health Organisation International Code of Marketing of Breast-milk Substitutes.
Advertising for the following products will not be accepted:

• tobacco products
• alcoholic beverages
• contraceptives and/or contraceptive devices
• food supplements, vitamins, minerals and medications
• publications, such as magazines and periodicals, which are not produced by La Leche League;
• books and other publications, except those which have been approved by La Leche League or are children’s books.
